Fun Times

The other day I gave Logan some mandarin oranges to play with but didn't realize that he had learned how to bite into things with his teeth!

He's also learned how to crawl up the stairs.  Unfortunately, he hasn't learned how to come down yet without tumbling so we have to keep an eye on him.  I have video but it's a long one because it takes him forever to get up there!

We love playing in the yard too!

Looks like Matt needs to mow the grass so he can find more of his toys instead of just his toes!

MOAB

Last weekend we took a fantastic trip to Moab for hiking, biking and hanging out with lots of friends.  There were several families that came and it was also the first family trip for us in the sprinter van.  It's not finished yet but Matt put it together enough for us to sleep in it.

All loaded and ready to go!  The van is so big it hardly looks like we packed much but we're also carrying a bunch of stuff for our friends.

The van only has seats in the front so Logan gets to sit in between us.  He loves it!

Finally made it to Arches National Park and ready to hike.

This was my first time driving the van.  It takes awhile to get used to the mirrors but it is a nice ride.  Also had to try out Matt's sunglasses for the full effect :)

Matt also got a chance to ride Porcupine Rim with the guys while we were there.

We ended up going in to the Park three times on this trip so we were able to hike to several of the famous arches.  Here is Matt and Logan (very tiny!) under the Delicate Arch.

I am actually standing with Logan just above the shadow under this arch.  Such a beautiful hike!

Matt took some of the older kids to climb up and see over the edge.  This is Matt with Titan and Ellie.

Titan, Ellie and Berkley.

The kids hanging out in the van before we left.  They thought it was a pretty cool ride!

A Picture and Video from this morning...

I heard a weird noise from Logan's room this morning and this is what I found.  He figured out how to open the drawers and use them to stand up.  Then he could pull all the things out!

Then while I was downloading our pictures from the weekend, I caught him in full action... He's still not really crawling yet but he's trying out some new moves.

Swings!

When I first put Logan in the swing he wasn't too sure about it.  He held on for dear life and turned into a rigid board...

But after a few minutes he decided this was a safe place to be and started to have fun.  He didn't seem to really love the swinging part but when he figured out that if he kicked his legs around it would make the swing squeak, well now that was exciting!

I also found a couple of good toy buys at the consignment sale.  Logan's first tractor!

Adventures in Eating and Sleeping

As many of you know, sleep has not been as easy thing to come by with Logan.  When he turned 9 months old he finally started to settle down and sleep a little bit better.  Now I can actually enjoy going in and looking at all the funny positions he gets into while he's sleeping.  I don't know how they breathe like that!

Spring crop of carrots!  I never finished taking all of the veggies out of the garden last summer but since we had such a warm winter it looks like the carrots survived.

We've been trying all sorts of new foods with Logan.  However, he has never done well with any grains.  Rice cereal, oatmeal, bread and even cheerios.  He just spits them all back out!  Here was a second chance with the cheerios and he just played with them and threw them on the floor.

But he definitely likes most anything else I feed him.  He is now getting more excited about feeding himself so  I have to find things that he can hold on to and get into his mouth.
Bananas...

Oranges... he loves them but spits out the pulp after he's worked out all the juice!

Tomatoes are a big hit too!

And this is usually how it looks in the end.
